Vision Board

What my family would look like...

In the future, if I do end up having kids, I'd like to have a family of 4. Me being one of the two parents, and two kids. I'd like a boy first, then a girl. I think this would be nice so when they get older and she might be confused about guys, he'll be able to tell her most of them aren't so great. Hopefully my significant other will know how to cook.

What's my car like?

I want a very simple but modern car. It'll look pretty sharp though.
2014 Mazda Mazda6 Sedan: MSRP $20,990

How's my career?

I'll be an artist in graphic design. I'm not sure exactly what I'll be doing in the future, unfortunately. But I do know that I like to draw a lot and I'd like to make dramatic movie posters.

This old guy is me in the near future.

Good example of work I admire.

Area of living

I'd like to live in a spacious apartment with a sceneric view out a window. I don't want a lot of crevices or too many stairs because I don't like cleaning or moving a lot and a big apartment is good for that.

Career Research Project

GRAPHIC DESIGN

The career I see myself doing in the future is graphic design. Graphic design can be recognized from movie posters, to logos for companies. I visualize myself as really open-minded and creative so creating themes or images for many different reasons feels like something I'm fit to do.

HISTORY AND BACKGROUND

Since when has graphic design been important to America? Funny actually, since forever. It had even existed before America. For example, Egyptians have used hieroglyphs to depict words through images. When you look at these symbols, you may think they're very simple and basic, like anyone could do them but nope. To make a diverse meaning into a simple symbol takes a lot of thought and psychological study so that other humans would understand what the symbol is supposed to mean.
A good example of someone who is known for graphic design is Shepard Fairey. He is OBEY. He wasn't doing so well with publicity until the Obama campaign used one of his pieces. Now OBEY products are seen as luxury.

REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN THIS CAREER

Really it's all about your communication skills, talent, energy, and creativity. People aren't perfect though so if you're into graphic design, there are a few fundamentals A class that must be required is computer/tech class. These classes can help even traditional-drawing artists on editing their pieces or for other projects which are really big.
Another class you may take to enhance your expertise in graphic design is Sociology. In learning sociology, you may use pathos, ethos, logos with fluent knowledge in knowing how people respond to certain images.
One of the goals I have set to complete in this career is to make original, well-harmonized, and inspiring artworks for the modern art era to embrace.
A couple of jobs I can do to get some recognition on my name is volunteering to paint murals or do internships involving the arts.

JOB POSITION DESCRIPTION

On an average work day, you don't have to do a routine or feel tired of always needing to get up at a specific time. Sometimes you'll have to get up for specific events but most of the time you can work when you feel comfortable. Graphic designers usually handle projects that must be done at a deadline. Other than this, the pay is based on your produce. Graphic artists can work at home, at school, alone, or with a group. It doesn't actually matter but with careful pieces, its usually in stress-free environments.
   The pay is salary.

WHAT'S CHALLENGING ABOUT THIS JOB?

There are many things you can hate about being a graphic designer. A portioned list would be:
-unfit group partners
-lack of motivation
-lack of ideas/creativity
-no progress
-economy

Although it seems like a lot of obstacles to get through, I'd much rather be doing something I love and fits to my strengths (art).

SO WHY IS GRAPHIC DESIGN IMPORTANT TO ME... AND SOCIETY?

Graphic design is important because it helps artists, like me, find jobs with great pay. Also it's important to society because artists help depict images for companies, people, organizations, etc. thus creating the connection between consumer and entrepreneur. Graphic designers help the common people to see things out of the box!
